Do you ever feel like some days you just can’t get anything
accomplished?
Having a solid morning routine in addition to the right
positive mindset to get your day on the right track is so important if you want
to be successful and get stuff done.
Today I’ve got about 6 things you need to do before 9 AM
each morning to have a more productive day.
Adding these habits to your morning routine will help boost
your productivity levels, work towards to achieving your goals, and change
your life for the better!
Wake up early
You can't seize the day if you don't start early! When we were first married on the weekends Kevin would wake up really late, almost noon most weekends. He would get frustrated because he didn't have as much time to get his things taken care of and I would get frustrated since I had to wait hours for him to be awake to work on other things.
He realized that in order to be productive in both areas he would need to wake up earlier, much earlier! So make sure to set that alarm early even on the weekends and you'll be able to accomplish so much more. Who knows you might be so productive in the morning you'll
start waking up at 5am to tackle everything.
Don't hit snooze
Hitting the snooze over and over again sets up your day to be very sluggish. The more times you hit it the more sluggish you'll most likely be.
For most of us hitting that snooze really doesn't give us any better rest. You're getting just a few half sleep minutes. Not really worth it.
Make your bed
I read somewhere years ago that if you make your bed in the morning it will make you feel like you've accomplished something.
It will also feel like you've tidied up even when you haven't tackled anything else in the room.
On days when the bed doesn't get made I definitely feel like something is off. Give it a try and see how you feel.
Boost your energy
It can be difficult to start your day if you're not feeling energized. There are so many different ways to get yourself energized in the morning.
My favorite way is to turn on some 80s and 90s pop tunes. I feel like there is no way you can't not be productive if you're listening to the Safety Dance. Am I right?
Figure out what gets you pumped up to take on the world. Maybe it's a special blend of coffee or an uplifting citrus candle.
Get moving
Movement and exercise is a great way to start of your productive day. First off you'll have already done something productive and good for you.
Second exercise can really boost your energy and make you feel alert. Even if you have to start with just a quick 10 minute workout do something active.
Make a plan for your day
How can you be productive and accomplish specific items if you don't know what those items are? That's right you can't!
After you've energized yourself sit down and have a mini planning session for your day.
You want to accomplish something each day and tackle the
most important outstanding tasks on your list so that you’re on your way to accomplishing
your goals.
We only have 24 hours in a day to get stuff done so whatever
your goal is, planning is very important to help you get there as
efficiently as possible.
Figuring out exactly what you have to get done each day and
when you to do those tasks will give you a solid plan to make use of your time
wisely.
