Marion E. Wade Center

One thing I pride myself on is being aware of all of the museums and cultural institutions in the Chicagoland area. I mean come on I can't complete my life goal to visit them all if I don't know what they all are right? So when I hear of one that I've never heard of I must go visit! Which led me to a mid-winter visit to the Marion E. Wade Center.

Located on the campus of Wheaton College right in downtown Wheaton. This little center houses collections relating to seven prominent British authors, Owen Barfield, G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Dorothy L. Sayers, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams.

In addition to all of library, special collections and research areas there is a small area with dedicated exhibits for each author. As a die hard original Chronicles of Narnia fan the crown jewel of the exhibit for me was the wardrobe from the original BBC movies.

This was a neat institution and definitely worth a stop while you're visiting downtown Wheaton.
