The first course was an amazing Duck Egg Rolls of roasted duck with brie cheese in a crispy egg roll with Ringneck Red wine reduction garnished with crunchy wasabi slaw. OH my goodness. These egg rolls were delicious. The first course had both of our votes as the best course. The creamy richness of the egg rolls were perfectly paired with the fresh crispy slaw. I thought the presentation, of all the courses really, was fun.
Next we had a wonderful entree of a sauteed jumbo prawn and a diver scallop on a bed of vegetable confetti quinoa served with Tiffany’s Toast Chardonnay Beurre Blanc paired with Tiffany’s Toast Chardonnay. Now I must warn you that Kevin and I are not fancy wine people, we felt that the pairing of the entree and chardonnay was the best of the meal. When you at the meal and drank the wine the food would really make the wine sing.
For me the wine, Pheasant Run Longtail White, paired with dessert was my favorite. It was a lighter crisper wine and wasn't as dry as the other two. Dessert was a Door County Sour Cherry Crisp paired with a homemade vanilla bean ice cream.
The entire dinner was wonderful, we both had a fantastic time and the food was great. The wine pairing dinners will be going on every Thursday in June so be sure to call now, 800-4-PHEASANT (474-3272), and make your reservation!
