Free For All Friday: Top 10 Favorite Rom Coms

Romantic comedies are one of the best and most hilarious movie genres out there. If done right they're the perfect combination of sappy and amusement. If done right your guy will enjoy watching them with you. In no particular order here are my top ten favorites.

1. Clueless
Clueless is everything that's great about a movie all in one little well dressed Beverly Hills package. Based off one of literature's great novels, Emma, you have the quirky heroine who just wants to help her friends find love and ends up making a mess of everything, the cute love interest (gotta love a young Paul Rudd!), great fashion, weird hats and an awesome 90's soundtrack.

2. 10 Things I Hate About You

Seriously people you really can't go wrong in doing a Shakespeare adaptation. For all of us perpetually single girls it was great to see the tough and strong girl find a guy who liked her just the way she was, bribing her with a guitar helped too! It also doesn't hurt that there is a young JGL and Heath Ledger who are both oh so cute.

3. Sixteen Candles

Sixteen Candles doesn't just top my Rom Com list it's definitely on my top favorite movie's list too. What girl doesn't want to be able to get the most popular guy? I know I wanted to get him! In true romantic comedy form everyone ends up with the person who they're least likely to be with but you knew from the beginning that they should be with.

4. Bridget Jones’s Diary
I feel like if I was single at Bridget's age I would probably act the same way. Who am I kidding up until meeting Kevin I totally was that way! Bridget is an amazing character because for all of her many faults and issues she really is happy with who she is. I mean come on you have to be ok with yourself if you're going to wear a bunny costume like that. Plus it's awesome that a normal woman has two good looking men literally fighting over her.

5. The Wedding Date
Probably one of the most underrated Rom Coms I LOVE this movie. I can watch it over and over again. Long story short Kat hires Nick as an escort to her sisters wedding where her ex fiance is the best man who has done some pretty crappy things to her. For Kat she does need to realize how awesome she is and does thanks to Nick and his awesome knowledge of women! Seriously if you haven't seen it before you really net to Netflix it.

6. 27 Dresses

Pretty almost everything Kathrine Heigl is in I enjoy so obviously one involving some killer dress up moments would be one of my favorites her films. I can definitely relate the being the OCD controlling type and no I didn't say the OCD cleaning type Stephanie! I mean come on look at that closet with all the dresses she's kept from the years, I feel like I'm looking in a mirror : )

7. Never Been Kissed

I already talked about my Drew Barrymore love so I don't need to expound on this one much : ) Can you see a trend in the movies I like?

8. She's All That
Typical high school rom com, hot jock, geeky art girl, evil popular chick to be taken down, a makeover and a killer dance number. It's one of the classics.

9. Can't Hardly Wait
While you're watching Can't Hardly Wait you feel like it's just a goofy teen comedy but really when you boil the plot down to it's essence it's a romantic teen comedy. Who doesn't love a guy who believes in all these different signs that you're the one for him? Oh and don't forget about writing you a love letter! Guys don't write enough love letters anymore ... hint hint Kevin!!

10. My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Another one of my all time favorite movies this one definitely takes the cake. Killer one liners paired with everything Greek it's a great time. Going along with my favorite theme of finding the guy who loves you for you and your family for your family. It reminds me a lot of my family. Not so intense but the same sentiments.

  4. These are amazing! I have been so obsessed recently with Clueless and Bridget Jones is just perfect! One based on Emma and the other loosely based on Pride and Prejudice - it's easy to see why my fave author is! :)

  5. So excited to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding on your list! It's one of my favourites and 'go to' chick flick movies. It seems like people always forget about/over look it when they discuss rom-coms though!
